Things to do
December 3 marks the beginning of this year's holiday season. Start off your day at the Creemore Farmers' Christmas Market at Station on the Green, a community area located on former railway grounds. In the afternoon, move over to the main strip of Mill Street to take in the annual Santa Claus Parade. “The whole town gets involved,” says Favot. “Every storefront is full of tasteful Christmas decorations - real evergreen boughs, red berries, incredibly fragrant garlands. It really gives you a sense of the season and it's a great way to get into the Christmas spirit.” The Creemore Springs Brewery at 139 Mill Street is another of the town's attractions, with tours of the facility (featuring samples!) taking place within the century-old building.
Places to eat
Is it a gourmet food shop, a catering company or a restaurant that tempts your taste buds? The answer might be all three, but no matter what moniker you give the Picnic Café (179 Mill Street), the consensus remains the same - people are willing to come from kilometres around to sample some of the delicious warm cinnamon rolls only available on Saturday mornings, as well as the shop's famed take-away lunches and mouthwatering baked goods. Featuring cooking classes in their in-store kitchen, Picnic Café is a one-stop destination for hungry day trippers.
