Our casually elegant themes give one banister three festive looks

Merry and bright

bough3.jpgYou'll need:
Floral wire
Cedar rope (about 1 ½ times as long as your banister)
Colourful ornaments to match
Bright ribbon in three or four shades

How to:
Starting at the highest point of your staircase, use floral wire to attach the end of the cedar rope to the banister. Moving down the staircase, create swags with the cedar rope at regular intervals, fixing the rope with more wire. At the bottom, wrap the remaining rope around the newel post. Where the rope is fixed to the banister at the swag points, secure clusters of ornaments to the handrail with ribbon tied in a bow, making sure to cover the floral wire so it can’t be seen.
