Get the look
Jane Everitt-Walker's holiday style features a very liveable aesthetic-it is, as her friends say, a Christmas house. (Can't you just picture yourself enjoying a cup of eggnog here?) Take a bit of inspiration from Jane this season, and use simple touches to recreate this heartfelt look. Vivid accents in a singular colour scheme will liven up any decor, while attention to detail means that the overall effect is not overdone. Sparing yet sensational, as we like to call it. We've selected our favourite do-it-yourself projects from Jane's rooms to help you brighten up your home for the holidays.
1. Adorn plain twig wreaths with berries and hang them in more than just one window.
2. Jane ensures there's a simple felt stocking for every family member, pets included.
3. A tiny vintage-look tree is festooned with ornaments. Ribbon, Mokuba; stockings, Hable Construction; Jonathan Adler tableware, Precidio Objects.
4. Lime is a new take on classic forest green. Take-out boxes are perfect for small offerings.
5. Loosen up traditional flower arrangements. Use tulips, poinsettias or other red blooms with feathery green foliage for a bouquet.
6. A holiday runner hung vertically adds visual interest. Pitcher, Rhubarb; Ginger Kelly glasses, European Sources Direct; wall hanging, Wesley Seto Design; sugar cubes, Two's Company.
