Cosy up to reading outside with a hand-embellished cushion.

You'll need:
Scissors
Heavy felt
Laminated burlap
Pencil
Fabric glue
Embroidery thread
Embroidery needle
Cotton batting

1. Cut felt into two 18" x 18" pieces. Cut several leaf shapes out of laminated burlap (you can trace an existing leaf from nature for a template if needed).

2. Lightly sketch veins of leaf onto leaf shapes with a pencil, then stitch by hand following the lines.

3. Glue leaves onto felt to create a pretty pattern.

4. With wrong sides together, use embroidery thread to stitch pieces of felt together around the edges of three sides in a blanket stitch.

5. Stuff pillow with cotton batting, then stitch the remaining side of the pillow together with a blanket stitch and embroidery thread.
