Set in place
Simple place cards feature playful maple leaf-shaped cut outs.
You'll need:
Scissors
Decorative paper
Maple leaf-shaped hole punch
Glue
Plain paper
1. Cut decorative paper into pieces approximately 4" x 4", one for each guest; fold each paper in half to form a tent card.
2. Using the hole punch, stamp out leaves from plain paper until you have two or three for each tent card.
3. Glue leaves onto decorative paper tents, leaving enough room to write a guest's name.
Pillow talk
Cosy up to reading outside with a hand-embellished cushion.
You'll need:
Scissors
Heavy felt
Laminated burlap
Pencil
Fabric glue
Embroidery thread
Embroidery needle
Cotton batting
1. Cut felt into two 18" x 18" pieces. Cut several leaf shapes out of laminated burlap (you can trace an existing leaf from nature for a template if needed).
2. Lightly sketch veins of leaf onto leaf shapes with a pencil, then stitch by hand following the lines.
3. Glue leaves onto felt to create a pretty pattern.
4. With wrong sides together, use embroidery thread to stitch pieces of felt together around the edges of three sides in a blanket stitch.
5. Stuff pillow with cotton batting, then stitch the remaining side of the pillow together with a blanket stitch and embroidery thread.
