To make our wands and tree star, you'll need:
White foam board, 1/4" thick
X-acto knife
Wood skewers
White craft glue and brush
Silver glitter
White card and pinking shears
Silver and white ribbons 1/4" wide
White ribbon for star, 1" wide
1. For wands, create a template out of card, tracing the stars onto the foam board, 3 1/2" at the widest point. Cut out stars with X-acto knife and insert a skewer into the bottom of each, and paint with white glue. Cover with silver glitter, let dry completely.
2. Create 3/4" x 3-1/4" tags that say ‘Christmas Wishes' out of white card using your computer or calligraphy pen. Trim edges with pinking shears and punch a hole at the top.
3. Cut 16" of both silver and white ribbons and tie onto skewers one inch below the star. Cut a 9" length of white ribbon and thread it through the tag. Tie it on with a bow just above the silver and white ribbons.
4. For tree star, cut a large star out of foam board. (Ours is 9 1/2" at its widest point.) Punch two holes into the middle, approximately 1 1/2" apart, to thread the ribbon through. Paint the star with white glue, cover with glitter and let dry completely.
5. Cut two feet of 1"-wide white ribbon and thread it through the hole at the back of the star to the front and then through to the back again. Leave an equal amount of ribbon each side.
6. Write the words ‘Belle Etoile' on a large tag (8" x 2"). Cut triangles out of each end of the tag. Paint a 1/4" border of glue around the tag and cover with glitter. Curl the tag and glue it to the star on an angle (see photo above). Use the ribbon to tie the star onto the tree with a bow.
