Stay within a colour scheme of two or three complementary shades. You don’t have to incorporate a spectrum of Mediterranean hues to make your point. And you don’t have to spend a lot of money either—the look you want is casual, charming and rustic. Inexpensive wicker furniture is everywhere these days, you can sew your own cushions (it’s easier than you think!), and for a coffee table, drape an old trunk in gorgeous fabric, et voila! Do, however, play up the style’s traditional roots, with vintage found items like used books, a particularly curvy old chair or a classic board game.
