Take your pick of three colourful country palettes to cure your white rooms

THE POWER OF GREEN
* Green is halfway through the colour spectrum and is therefore considered to have a balancing influence.
* Green can act as a neutral. The right shade of green works seamlessly with other neutrals, such as brown and cream.
* Green is one of the few colours that works as a single-colour palette – you can layer different tones and textures without creating a jarring effect.

The introduction of moss green lends a relaxed feel to a bedroom retreat. Gradations of verdant green in the plain colours and fabric accentuate the play of light. In an unexpected reversal, we've ‘lowered' the ceiling by using a slightly darker green than on the walls to create a cocoon-like effect. The soft greens impart a different dynamic than the red room: varying shades of green combined with different fabric textures – linen, silk and velvet – create a subtle interplay to evoke a sense of calm.
