A valiant spirit blazes the way for a refined country fireplace

There's no better time than the holidays to cozy up by a fire, but if staring at traditional brick and a few years' worth of soot don't offer quite the ambience you're after, try constructing a clean-lined hearth like this one. We chose a dramatic white and black colour scheme, warmed up with festive red.

Our Regency-inspired mantel has a bit of a masculine feel, and marble-look ceramic tiles help make Santa's trip down the chimney a little smoother. Rustic texture appears in black tongue-and-groove flooring, a practical wood holder to elevate your fire and a collectible iron matchbox; holiday glam pops up in mercury glass accents and a sparkly stocking holder.
