Inspired by the nostalgic look of a gentleman's club, our bathroom is bedecked in gracious fittings. To get the look, start by doing the unexpected.
1. Dress up the bathroom with elegant wainscotting.
2. Hang wall sconces so you can bathe
by candlelight.
3. Keep colours neutral and add texture through a mix of materials, such as embroidered silk shutters or a vintage leather chair.
4. Emulate the look of limestone walls with a faux finish.
5. Put your collections on display.
Trend #3 - WILD FOR WHIMSY
We looked to England for a practical, yet tongue-in-cheek approach to our kitchen. To get the look, start by using your imagination.
1. Make the style unfitted – we used three different finishes for the cabinets.
2. Mix appliances. We combined a black AGA cooker with a Frigidaire stainless steel fridge and dishwasher.
3. Integrate fabric at the beginning, not as an afterthought. The G.P.&J. Baker pineapple print inspired our palette
and choice of chandeliers.
4. Mismatched hardware adds to the eclectic look.
5. Add personality with artwork.
