When Nicola updated her look, she didn't give up on antiques. The armchairs, re-covered in neutral linen fabric, are old. The low modern buffet holds CDs, DVDs and Clara's toys. Red paint makes the coffee table pop. The Ikea wool rug, which lies upside down here, now reveals a grid pattern and gentler palette that Nicola prefers to the proper side.
