three-bathrooms1a.jpgWe’ve always believed that surrounding yourself with the things you love is what life’s all about. And when those elements come together in a seamless, effortless decorating style, we like to give credit where credit is due. In the case of homeowner Ted Johnston and his partner, Tim Young, it’s apparent that they’ve taken great patience and care to achieve the flawless look of their country retreat (see the main rooms in Welcome to the lakehouse), and yet the effect is comfortable, not staged, and full of genuine warmth.

three-bathrooms1b.jpgThere are seven bedrooms in the house, plus a guest building on the property. Finding stylish elements for these rooms is a labour of love, as Ted is finally able to display many found treasures he’s had on hand for years.

In this master ensuite, an addition to the original building, the intent was to establish a “men’s club locker room” feel, with the vintage aesthetic upgraded with heated floors, a pull-chain loo and a luxurious shower. Designed with loads of space, there’s lots of room to add in a selection of the authentic accessories that Ted has collected.
