YOU ASKED: We couldn't believe the number of queries we received with regard to the wallÂpaper featured in “Class Act” and on the cover of the October 2007 issue! It seems this red floral pattern was just what many of our readers were seeking. And after a drawn-out search, we finally found the pattern. The wallpaper is from Crown Wallpaper's English Cottage book, pattern #7066-804. Contact Cheryl Zale at Crown at (800) 268-1300 for information on where the wallpaper can be purchased locally.
Q: I've been a subscriber for years and enjoy every issue. Do you know where I can find the hardware on page 60 in the September 2007 issue (see “Vision Accomplished”)? The home featured is in Quebec and I
was hoping for a supplier in southern Ontario.
A: The hardware you're looking for are cremone bolts, used for casement windows or doors. They're carried by Upper Canada Specialty Hardware in Toronto. Call (416) 696-8358 or visit www.ucsh.com to see the showroom.
Q: Canadian Home & Country is a work of art! The vanity on the front of the September 2007 issue is the exact vanity (with a few modifications) I've been trying to bring to life for my own bathroom restoration. Do you have the contact information for the manufacturer of the vanity and sink? I will venture to say that the harvest table was special-ordered and the sink was dropped in upon completion-am I correct? Any information you could provide would be most helpful.
A: I am so glad you enjoy the magazine, Pauline. The sink and faucet you are referring to are both made by Kohler. The faucet is the K-12181 Fairfax single-control lavatory faucet model, while the sink is the K-2075-1 Serif self-rimming lavatory with single-hole faucet drilling. You can find and purchase it online (www.kohler.com). And yes, you are correct about the harvest table-it is a reproduction made by Camlen Antiques, who you can find online at www.camlenantiques.com.
Best of luck with the renovation!
Q: Four years ago I bought a La-Z-Boy reclining sofa and two matching recliners. I really like the furniture but my mistake was buying it all in same dark green material. Is there a company that makes slipcovers for reclining furniture?
A: Slipcovers are a great way to change your look and are much more affordable than buying new recliners. I know of two companies that make pre-made slipcovers for recliners: Surefit Home Furnishings (www.canadiancovercompany.com)
and The Original Couch Bag Company (www.couchbag.com).
They both offer great options for chairs, and you're sure to find something you love.
Q: When reading the Spring 2007 issue, I noticed the outdoor shower featured on page 38 (see “What's On Tap?”). Could you please tell me the shade of green used to paint the walls?
A: That is a beautiful shade of green! Although I do not have the exact colour, I would try Southern Breeze 450E-3 from Behr Premium Plus, available at The Home Depot.
Q: I love your magazine! I am looking to paint my master bedroom, and the shade of blue used on page 90 of the October 2007 issue looks perfect (see “Boho Chic”). Could you please tell me what colour this is?
A: The paint colour you're referring to is a mixture of several colours. I'd suggest using Oldenburg FD001 from the new Canadian Home & Country Colour Collection from Beauti- Tone Paints, available at Home Hardware, for a similar look to freshen up your bedroom walls.
